What to Expect in Sessions

Your First Session

Your first session is about understanding your experience with ADHD and what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about your history, challenges with attention or organization, strategies you’ve tried, and what you would like to change.

Already have an ADHD diagnosis? That’s helpful information. Don’t have one?

That’s okay, too. We’ll start with where you are and work from there.

Therapy Is Practical

ADHD therapy isn’t just talking about what went wrong that week.

Sessions are active and focused on real-life strategies you can actually use—whether that means creating a planning system, breaking down an overwhelming task, working through emotional triggers, or figuring out why something that worked before suddenly stopped working.

Sessions are typically 45-60 minutes, usually weekly to start, with frequency adjusted based on your needs.

Progress Looks Different for Everyone

ADHD therapy isn't about changing who you are or forcing your brain to work like someone else's.

It’s about understanding how your brain works, finding strategies that fit your life, and building skills that help you follow through with the things that matter.

Over time, progress might look like less chaos in the morning, fewer unfinished tasks, better emotional control, or finally feeling like you're able to use your capabilities instead of constantly fighting against your struggles.

The goal isn't to become a different person. It's to work with your brain—not against it.

Let's Talk

You don’t have to keep fighting your brain. Learn how to work with it and build strategies that fit your life.
